You Are Not Disqualified From Your Own Life

I do my best thinking when I’m hiking a mountain trail, pushing my physical abilities to the extreme.

The best part of hiking is when it’s over. Don’t get me wrong there are so many unforgettable moments along the way. A soaring hawk, unique rock, scary critters, breathtaking views…but finishing the hike is the best part!

I love to go early as the sun is coming up. It’s rare to see people early. I guess that’s why I feel as though it’s MY mountain to climb. I only want to share it with people who can dream. We all desire a place where our imaginations can explore.

It’s on the hike where I’ve created a whole kingdom in my mind. I’m the queen of the castle, and I open the castle to the public for celebrations where all people are included and made to feel equally important. The castle is filled with whimsical flowers, food, and music that lift our spirits as we all share a night as one kingdom. The kingdom is founded on kindness and a spirit of serving others.

As for my mountain, I’m a good sport about sharing it, but it’s mine nonetheless. Something happens to us when we feel ownership.

Most people talk about hiking but never go. Lots of people want to go; it’s on their “bucket” list. But, most forget or just don’t get around to it.

Climbing a mountain is like most people’s lives. They never get around to the climb.

Living a life fully engaged is something most people “plan” to do, but along the way, they just forget. Dreams become “we’ll go there next time,” but, often, there isn’t a next time.

Climbing the mountain is an overall attitude toward life rather than a one-time decision. We need a change of attitude, not more opportunities.

It’s not a place where you go to be entertained. It has all of the potential YOU bring to it! To find out how much that is, all you have to do is show up. You don’t need a plan. You just need to be present.

When I’m on a mountain trail, I think about God the whole time. He didn’t choose someone else to express His creative presence to the world. He chose you and me. We are the means, the method, the object, and the delivery vehicles. God chooses ordinary sinners like us to get things done!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Living fully, the way He designed us is not ever going to be stationary. In the end, to live our best life, we can’t just keep thinking about it. We should choose to walk the path He created so that we can live our fullest life! It’s so powerful!

JUST SHOW UP! He is waiting!  ♥️🙏
